JACKSON, Wyo. — Patients and healthcare workers at St. John’s Health will soon benefit from a new state-of-the-art system that disinfects clinical areas and patient rooms using smart technology.

“Patient safety has always been a top priority, but we can’t recall a time when it has been more important to help reduce the spread of disease in our community,” said CEO Paul Beaupre, MD. “This new system will also help our healthcare workers, who bravely come to work each day knowing the risks they face.”

Tru-D delivers chemical-free UVC energy to eliminate pathogens. By measuring the reflected UVC energy that bounces back to the robot, Tru-D allocates the appropriate time necessary to disinfect every room, eliminating the potential for human error in the disinfection process.

The St. John’s Hospital Foundation also approved the purchase of 10 new ventilators, Beaupré announced in a community update yesterday.

“We are grateful to the St. John’s Health Foundation and the donors who helped us acquire this important new equipment,” Beaupre added. “By continuing to support each other in all the ways we can, our community can be well-prepared to handle the challenges we may face in the weeks ahead.”
