JACKSON, Wyo. — St. John’s Health Foundation is seeking original paintings, limited edition photographs and prints for temporary display as part of its Art & Healing Program.

Artists are invited to submit 6-12 available works of art. Artists living in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah and Colorado are invited to apply. The deadline to submit is Feb. 3, 2023; visit CaFÉ for full submission details and to apply.

Through an emerging and growing field of research, art in healthcare settings is recognized as a powerful tool used to create a healing environment by lowering stress and anxiety of patients, families and staff. Art helps rejuvenate, restore and heal the human spirit; it transforms the visitor experience, builds community among patients and staff, and demonstrates a commitment to excellence.

“Patients and their families notice the art at St. John’s,” said Anna Olson, President of St. John’s Health Foundation. “Instead of walking down empty halls that reinforce awareness of their clinical setting, our patients see local art that evokes feelings of peace, warmth, hope and relaxation. This partnership with Public Art and local artists continues to set St. John’s Health apart as a hospital that cares for the whole patient.”

The volunteer art committee, assembled by St. Johns Health Foundation with the support of JH Public Art, will review submissions. All criteria can be found on the application site, CaFÉ.
