JACKSON, Wyo. — Stripping for a Cure recently presented the St. John’s Health Foundation with a check for $160,000, exceeding all previous donations from the nonprofit organization.

“Every year, we host this event with hopes to grow our support of local patients experiencing cancer. We are floored by the generosity of our donors and very proud to make our largest donation to-date” said Stripping for a Cure Board Member Amy Aubrey.

Stripping for a Cure is an annual celebration of women, fly fishing, and philanthropy bringing female anglers together to raise funds for our greater Teton cancer community through the St. John’s Health Foundation.

The gift from Stripping for a Cure is exemplary in its universal support of cancer treatment, from diagnosis and treatment to side effect management and survivorship programming.

“Stripping for a Cure’s generosity enables my team to care for the whole patient. When someone comes in for treatment, we are not just treating their cancer, we’re supporting their mind, body and spirit. The impact of that level of support is felt and seen every day,” said St. John’s Health Director of Oncology Casey Gregory.

The $160,000 gift will be evenly split between The Cancer Patient Support Fund and the Cancer Survivorship Program. The Cancer Patient Support Fund is available to St. John’s Health Oncology patients who need support for transportation, lodging, and other discretionary costs associated with treatment. The St. John’s Health Cancer Survivorship Program, which officially launched in January 2022, offers comprehensive services to improve physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial wellbeing throughout the cancer journey. As the lead donor to this program, Stripping for a Cure’s support will eliminate financial barriers to services like acupuncture, mental health care, and massage, allowing active patients and those in remission to access the care they need to fully heal.

Foundation President Anna Olson remarked, “The partnership between St. John’s Health Foundation and Stripping for a Cure will have an enormous impact on patient access and quality of cancer care in the year ahead. Thank you to the Stripping for a Cure donors who made this work possible.”
