Art market to celebrate art, culture, music, relationships and community

JACKSON, Wyo. — Celebrating the rich history of the arts, music and culture of the many Native American tribes who call the West home, St. John’s Episcopal Church is thrilled to be hosting dozens of regional indigenous artists on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 on the church lawn.

The Jackson Indigenous Art Market will highlight artists throughout Wyoming and neighboring states featuring original paintings, traditional beadwork and basketry, jewelry, apparel, accessories and home decor. Christian Wallowing Bull and Darrel Lonebear & Wind River Dancers will entertain folks through song and dancing.

“Arts are essential to how we express ourselves, define what is meaningful to our family or culture and respect traditions,” says St. John’s Episcopal Church Associate Rector Mary Erickson. “We are honored to be able to host an array of artists to showcase Native American arts and culture at St. John’s. We invite everyone in our community to attend, support these artists and take a moment to celebrate Native American arts.”

Saturday and Sunday will feature a live art demo, dancers and musicians. The Jackson Indigenous Art Market is a family-friendly event.
