SRB’s Mug Club Mile will raise funds for brain health

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Snake River Brewing’s Mug Club Mile just went beer-free. We know, you’re excited. You just saw “beer” and “free” in the same sentence…right next to each other, in fact.

Here’s what’s going on.

The Mug Club Mile Race was to have included beers every quarter-mile. Now the fundraiser supporting brain health and local cancer patients via the Oncology fund at St. John’s Hospital Foundation will sub out beer for sparkling water.

Race organizers said they were concerned that more attention was being paid to the beer rather than the race and the purpose: to support brain health and local cancer patients. Great beer choices like those at SRB tend to do that.

So to make sure everyone keeps their eyes on the prize this Saturday, SRB is adding a late substitution to the event.

The Mug Club Sparkling Water Mile will take place Saturday, May 19, on the block around the brewpub. The challenge is to drink four sparkling waters while running four laps around the brewery, adding up to a total of one mile. There will be four race categories: Men’s Individual, Women’s Individual, Relay, and Family.

Monika and Travis Ziehl

All proceeds will go straight to the Oncology fund at St. John’s Hospital Foundation per the request of one of SRB’s Mug Clubbers, Travis Ziehl, who is currently battling brain cancer. SRB will be serving burgers and beer on the lawn. KHOL will be spinning tunes, and good times will be had all around.

Snake River Brewing will also have a raffle with a ton of cool prizes, including Start Bike year-long membership courtesy of Friends of Pathways, a Bike from Fitzy’s, Hoka running shoes, as well as SRB and Skinny Ski’s schwag.

Register online, or in person at Snake River Brewing or Skinny Ski’s. It’s $20 per person for pre-registration and $30 for day of registration. Sign up ASAP because race organizers will be capping the number of participants for each category. Entry fee includes the four sparkling waters you will be drinking, a t-shirt, and a token for a free Snake River Brewing beer.
