JACKSON, Wyo. — The morning sky has been putting on dazzling displays over the mountains this winter.
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer captured the pink glow of the rising sun over the Tetons this week.

A handful of moose were on the scene as well, adding further dimension to the dawn display.

Pink and orange hughes contrasted pleasantly with white snow and mountain browns.

On Thursday, Dec. 7, the sun rose in the southeast at 7:42 a.m. and the sun set southwest at 4:46 p.m., providing about nine hours of sunlight.
The winter solstice is approaching on Dec. 21, so days will begin to lengthen after that.
