JACKSON, WY — A Lewis & Clark River Expeditions bus full of passengers overheated yesterday, but everybody on board walked away unscathed.

Local photographer/videographer Wade Dunstan captured this video of passengers hurrying off of the smoking bus on the corner of Milward and Broadway. Lews & Clark co-owner James Peck says it looks worse than it was. The bearing likely seized up and got too hot, but the driver was able to pull over and put it out before anyone was hurt.

“It’s just a bus that broke down.”

This particular bus has just passed a U.S. Department of Transportation pre-season inspection and a random Department of Transportation inspection “with flying colors,” Peck said.

“We take care of our vehicles.” But sometimes busses break down anyway.
