JACKSON, Wyo. — Locals gathered on Jackson’s Town Square on Saturday, March 1, to protest cuts to the federal workforce that have affected staff across the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service. Approximately 100 people attended, according to witnesses, with some estimating as many as 200 attendees.

The demonstration was part of a nationwide chain of protests. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer dropped by to capture the moment.



Event organizers, centralized on the Instagram account @ResistanceRangers, reported that 179 parks saw gatherings on Saturday, with an estimated attendance totaling more than 12,000 people.
