MOOSE, Wyo. — A fox and a park ranger were caught in a bit of a standoff on Sunday afternoon in Grand Teton National Park.

Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer was there to capture the moment. The fox, traveling on the cleared roadway came face to face with the stopped park ranger vehicle before continuing on.

Grand Teton National Park requires all visitors to maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from bears and wolves, and 25 yards from all other wildlife.

Park roads remain closed to vehicles until May 1 but nonmotorized recreation is currently permitted on Teton Park Road between the Taggart Lake Trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge.
