MOOSE, Wyo. — Colter Bay Marina in Grand Teton National Park is looking very dry this summer.
According to the park, Due to low water levels on Jackson Lake, the Colter Bay Marina and all associates activities and services will not be operating for the 2022 summer season,

The Jackson Lake Dam, located on the Snake River in Grand Teton, contractually provides irrigation for the Upper Snake Basin. The Jackson Lake Dam raises the water level of the natural lake by 39 feet.
Jackson Lake is currently 47% full and well below the average water level, according to the Bureau of Reclamation.

Last summer, the marina closed on Aug. 14, after a rapid draw down of Jackson Lake made the marina inaccessible to boats. According to the park, Jackson Lake was drawn down to levels only seen three times in the past thirty years.
