JACKSON, Wyo. — Multiple helicopters graced the lawn at the base of Snow King on Thursday afternoon, showing off for the public and nearly 700 search and rescue team members from around the world.
Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) hosted the International Commission for Alpine Rescue’s (ICAR) annual congress last week, in what was only the second time it has been hosted in the U.S. ICAR was held in Lake Tahoe in 2014.

Though the Blackhawk helicopters were unable to attend, visitors got the chance to see and hop inside multiple rescue choppers that were on display. Flight demonstrations also took place for eager onlookers.
The meet-up of national and international alpine rescue teams consisted of demonstrations, practical training exercises, educational experiences, networking and some good old fashioned western fun.
