JACKSON, Wyo. — The valley awoke to smokey skies this morning, Sept. 5.
According to the government site, AirNow, the smoke is rolling in from fires burning across much of Idaho and portions of western Montana.

The Ross Fork Fire is a 6,010-acre fire burning in the Sawtooth National Forest in Idaho.

The air quality is deteriorating in the area, Driggs air quality is currently rated at 168, making it unhealthy for sensitive groups of the population, and is expected to get worse. In Kelly, the rating is 140 and falls in the same rating as Driggs.



In Teton Village, Jackson and at the Jackosn Hole Airport the air quality is between 70 and 80, which is acceptable but there may be risks for some people who are sensitive to air pollution, especially if exposed for 24 hours.
Fire danger is rated as moderate in Grand Teton National Park, The National Elk Refuge and on Bridger-Teton National Forest. Fire danger is high in Yellowstone National Park. There are currently no fire bans.
