JACKSON, Wyo. — A power line on Cache Street briefly caught fire on Monday morning, causing a power outage for nearby businesses.

A fire truck was dispatched around 10:35 a.m. to investigate a plume of smoke coming from a power line across the street from the Rustic Inn. Power went out from the Rustic Inn all the way to Dairy Queen in the 400 and 500 blocks, leading many businesses to close to customers.

Lower Valley Energy representatives on site told Buckrail that there had been a “full-on fire” caused by components of the electrical lines knocking into each other.

Power returned to the area around 12:15 p.m.
