WILSON, Wyo. — According to Charlotte Reynolds of Teton County School District #1, on Thursday, Feb. 9, the school administration discovered an estimated five skis were stolen from Wilson Elementary School.
“This is the first time this sort of incident has happened,” Reynolds said. “We immediately notified the School Resource Officer and we are working with law enforcement.”
According to Reynolds, there was a combination of personal student skis, teacher skis and some district-owned skis that went missing. Both nordic and alpine skis were stolen. Reynolds was also notified that there was a truck and a U-Haul trailer involved in the theft.
“The skis were outside,” said Reynolds. “We have never had an issue before with skis being outside but obviously will keep skis inside going forward.”
Sgt. Clay Platt of the Teton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the theft, and it is still under investigation.
