JACKSON HOLE, WYO – As we all get a little pumped for pass skiing one nagging question might have the anxiety kicking in a little. Do I have everything I need in my pack?
That just-in-case bag may save a life one day, so Teton County Search & Rescue has put together a two-hour seminar/class that is all about packing for safety.
The winter edition of their popular “What’s In Your Pack” class features TCSAR volunteers and local pros teaching essentials for the backcountry. Topics include:
- What’s in Your Pack and Winter Fire Building
- First Aid: Hands Only CPR and Basic Winter Ailments
- Winter Trip Planning with American Avalanche Institute
- Beacons: Parking Lot Checks with JH Outdoor Leadership Institute
Attendees will also get a chance to tour the Search and Rescue facility and get a great swag bag. Scholarships are available and students are always free. Pre-registration for the event is required.
Winter What’s In Your Pack Class is Thursday, December 7, from 6-8pm at the TCSAR Hangar just off the Y intersection on Highway 22.
