WYOMING —This morning, Wyoming Superintendent Brian Schroeder announced his intent to formally run for superintendent in the upcoming 2023 election.
“The last couple of months have been a whirlwind for sure. Notwithstanding, as the dust begins to settle and more clarity is emerging on the significance of the role of Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction, with much counsel from friends and family, I have declared my intention to formally run for the position in the upcoming election.”

Governor Mark Gordon appointed Schroeder to replace Superintendent Jillian Balow, who resigned on Jan. 16, 2022. He was sworn in as Wyoming’s Superintendent of Public Instruction on Feb. 4.
Schroeder will serve as Superintendent for the remainder of Balow’s term, which ends in January 2023.
