JACKSON, Wyo. — Rock the Ride shattered its fundraising goal this year.

The fifth-annual fundraiser for St. John’s Health Foundation’s Stroke and Cardiac Fund raised more than $116,000, St. John’s Health Foundation announced.

It was also the biggest turnout in its five-year history. Hosted at the Teton Science School March 8, 220 people participated on 58 teams, sponsored by over 70 local businesses

“Thanks to each and every participant, donor and sponsor, we do not have to turn away any patient blindsided by the cost of their experience and recovery,” said Julie Guttormson,

Gottormson understands personally. She suffered a stroke more than a decade ago at age 31. She started Rock the Ride 10 years later. Now, the event is as much a party as it is a fundraiser.

All funds raised will benefit local stroke and cardiac patients through St. John’s Health Foundation’s Stroke and Cardiac Fund.
