JACKSON, Wyo. — Whether cleaning out old river gear from the garage or looking to upgrade paddle boards, the Rendezvous River Sports boat swap is the place to be this weekend.
It is no secret that this is the best weekend to get discounts on new or used kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, canoes, rafts and other various river equipment. The annual swap will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Rendezvous River Sports at 945 West Broadway.
There will be sale prices on select 2024 kayaks, boards and gear. There is typically a wide variety of whitewater and touring kayaks. Event organizers recommend showing up early on Saturday to peruse the best available options, including paddles and personal flotation devices.
The event, which raises money for the Jackson Hole Kids Kayak Club, is a sure sign of spring in the valley. And it’s a chance to get in the spirit for Rendezvous’ upcoming 30th anniversary party and Whitewater Film Fest at the Virginian Lodge on May 10.
For those new to the world of water sports or just looking for something different to do, Rendezvous offers many lessons and local day trips throughout the summer. These include stand-up paddle board instruction for both lakes and rivers, and whitewater and inflatable kayak lessons. They also host safety and rescue classes as well as instructor certifications. No matter the skill level, Rendezvous makes it easy to get out and enjoy the water.
Bring in used gear for the boat swap and trade it in for new gear or cash. Drop off days for the swap are Thursday, May 1 and Friday, May 2. Email info@jacksonholekayak.com or call 733-2471 for more details.
