PINEDALE, Wyo. — Join the Pinedale Aquatic Center, Friends of PAC and the Sublette Trails Association Jan. 28 for the Fourth Annual Pinedale Stampede Ski Race, featuring both classic and freestyle nordic divisions.

The race will have a variety of distances; 22K, 11K and 5K for adults as well as a junior race series with 5K and 2.5K. The race will be held at the nordic trail system adjacent to the White Pine Ski Area in Pinedale at the foothills of the Wind River Range.

The 5k and junior races will be on the flats while the 22k and 11k will climb through the trees, offering a challenge to advanced skiers.

The trail system, around the White Pine Ski Area and Kelly Park, is maintained by the Sublette County Rec Board, in cooperation with the United States Forest Service. The trails are always free to the public and are only 10 miles from Pinedale.

Registration is open now and all competitors will receive swag from great local sponsors!

This year, there will be awards social after the race at 3 p.m. and Lakeside Lodge; mingle with other competitors and celebrate your success. Appetizers will be provided and there will be a cash bar.

Lakeside is also offering lodging deals for racers as well, so stay and enjoy dinner and spend the night in one of their cabins on Fremont Lake.

The event is being run by the Pinedale Aquatic Center, Pinedale’s amazing recreation center that features two pools, a water slide, and a climbing wall among other amenities. Racers will get free admission to the center on the day before and day of the race and are encouraged to bring their families to enjoy all that Pinedale has to offer.
