JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department (TCJPR) has announced grand opening festivities for the newly renovated Recreation Center.

Town of Jackson and Teton County staff will join TCJPR staff for a public ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. The public is also invited to the celebration following the ceremony, which will include light refreshments, special programs, vendors and giveaways.

Visitors can explore the facility and check out the new additions to the center: an additional gymnasium, an indoor walking/jogging track, a climbing gym, daycare services, a new entrance from King Street and more. Construction on the outdoor aquatic splash pad continues, TCJPR noted; it’s expected to open in early summer.

To celebrate the completion of the expansion, the Rec Center will be free to the public from 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, through Saturday, June 1. The eight-figure expansion project was approved by voters in 2019, with construction beginning in June 2022.
