JACKSON, Wyo. — The deadline to pay outstanding property tax bills is Tuesday, August 5, at 4:30 p.m., according to the Teton County Treasurer’s Office.
The annual property tax lien sale will be held in the Teton County Fair Community Building at 305 Snow King Avenue, on Wednesday, August 6, at 9 a.m.
As of July 28, there were delinquent balances on 68 parcels in Teton County.
The tax lien sale sells the liens on the property to a buyer who may then pursue the collection of monies owed. Liens are a right to keep possession of property belonging to another person until a debt owed by that person is cleared.
Information regarding the annual tax lien sale, delinquent tax bills, payment options and procedures can be found here, under the “Property Tax” heading.
“Ideally, property owners can remedy the situation prior to a third party purchasing the tax lien for the parcel,” said Teton County Treasurer Katie Smits.
