JACKSON, Wyo. — Residents can safely dispose of expired or unused medications this Wednesday, Oct. 21, at a free Drug Take Back Day hosted by the Jackson Police Department and the Community Prevention Coalition of Teton County.

Those needing to dispose of medications can do so between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Town Hall on 150 E. Pearl Ave.

Drop-off is free and no questions will be asked. Accepted items include:

  • Prescription medications
  • Over-the-counter pills
  • Vitamins
  • Pet medications
  • Liquids and aerosols

Needles and other sharps will not be accepted.

According to organizers, unused medications sitting at home can be misused, lead to accidental overdose or end up in the wrong hands. Taking them to a safe disposal site is an easy way to protect the community.
