JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue, Exum and Jackson Hole Mountain Guides will team up on Wednesday, Dec. 18, to host a beacon search practice event at the base of Snow King.
The free “Beacons and Brews” event is intended to be a fun and informal evening of beacon search practice. Participants can practice post-avalanche rescue scenarios, brush up on their skills and ask search and rescue representatives questions in a low-pressure situation.
“You can work through scenarios on your own or ask for guidance from one of the experts,” TCSAR said via Facebook.
Free hot cocoa and beer will be provided. Participants should bring a beacon, shovel and probe.
The event will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Participants of all ages and experience levels are invited.
