All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.
May 19, 9:02 am – Found Property
A bike was found, apparently abandoned on the roadside. No similar bikes have been reported stolen.
May 19, 11:18 am – Drug Offense
A juvenile was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance.
May 19, 1:57 pm – Citizen Assist
A subject who was struggling with a mental health issue asked the police department to take several firearms for safekeeping while they resolve their current struggles.
May 19, 3:55 pm – Theft
An airport employee reported that her airport access card had been lost or stolen. The card was subsequently found by janitorial staff.
May 19, 11:56 pm – Illegal Camping
This is just an event with no report. It is listed as resolved. Apparently, someone was found sleeping in a parking lot and likely advised they needed to make other arrangements in the future.
May 20, 1:20 am – Public Intoxication
Officers were dispatched to a report of a subject who was too intoxicated to walk. When they arrived they observed the subject staggering and stumbling and bystanders reported the subject was yelling and being rude to those who had tried to get him a taxi. There were several nearby taxi drivers who reported they attempted to give the subject a ride, but due to the subject’s belligerent attitude they later declined. Officers determined the subject was too intoxicated to care for himself and placed him under arrest for public intoxication. Subsequent to the arrest, the subject was also found to be in possession of marijuana. As a result, Michael P Young, 29, of Memphis, TN, was charged with public intoxication and possession of marijuana.
May 20, 2:11 pm – Found Property
A found credit card was turned into the police and returned to the owner.
May 20, 8:55 pm – Battery
Officers responded to a report of a subject who had been punched. Upon contacting the victim, he reported he was uninterested in police assistance and the suspect was no longer on scene. The report is for information only.
May 21, 3:31 am – Code Enforcement
A subject was given a warning after being found sleeping in a vehicle in a public parking lot.
