JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. Comments: Juvenile caught possessing and selling vapes while at school.

•PROPERTY – FOUND PROPERTY
Comments: A metal fly rod tube containing a bamboo fly rod was found by Powderhorn Ln. and Maple St. Unknown owner. Item taken for safe keeping.

•CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – OTHER CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES
Comments: Two men were reported as being possibly “stoned” and acting weird. Officers contacted the men while they were inside a vehicle which was running. The driver of the vehicle was found to be intoxicated and performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. The driver was arrested for DUI. During an inventory of the vehicle, Officers located a pill bottle containing scheduled drugs that were not supposed to be in the particular bottle. The man was also charged for the possession of controlled substances.

Comments: Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers stopped the vehicle and could smell the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage. A DUI investigation was completed and the driver was arrested for DUI.

Comments: Two unknown white male subjects entered an establishment. They grabbed a few items totaling at around $500.00. They waited for about 30-45 minutes before running out of the open back door.

Comments: Officer observed a vehicle run the flashing red light at Broadway A venue Cache Street. Officer stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Driver was arrested for DUI and booked into the Teton County Jail.

Comments: Dispatch received two reports of a local REDDI vehicle. The vehicle was located shortly after colliding with an unoccupied car and leaving the scene. The driver failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI, Hit & Run, and No Insurance.

Comments: A n unknown man came to a private residence and was seen walking around in the yard. The man then walked past the elderly home owner and entered the residence without permission.

Comments: A model for an event at a bar-placed her ring in a private bathroom. The items were moved and the ring was apparently stolen.

Comments: A man reported his bag stolen from the airport. The bag was lost during a flight the man had taken earlier in the week. When the bag finally arrived in Jackson, the man was not there to retrieve the bag and someone else picked up the bag. The suspect was located on cameras taking the bag and is being investigated for the theft. Investigation ongoing.

Comments: Officer observed vehicle drive straight through an intersection in a right turn only lane. Driver displayed signs of impairment, performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence.

Comments: A man discovered a fresh, deep scratch on his pickup. It appeared the pickup had been “keyed” while parked on the street overnight.

•STOLEN VEHICLE – UNAUTHORIZED USE, AUTO (JOY RIDING)
Comments: A vehicle was stopped for numerous violations. The driver of the vehicle was found to be a juvenile without a drivers license. The juvenile did not have permission to drive the vehicle he was driving and was out well passed curfew (juvenile was on diversion). The juvenile was issued a citation for no drivers license and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

 

Brian Bentley, 47, of Salt Lake, Utah booked on two counts of Criminal Trespass. (TCSO)

Comments: A man entered a woman’s home on Wednesday. During entry the woman told him he could not be there. The man returned on Thursday passing a “private drive” sign and was in the driveway when the woman returned to her home. Police arrived and the man had no justification for being on the private property or entering the home the day before. The man was arrested for trespassing.

Comments: Female was drinking at a local bar and woke up several hours later in her hotel room and had vomited. Females believes she may have been drugged. A blood sample was taken and sent for testing.

Comments: A flatbed trailer was stolen from a local business. The suspect vehicle appears to be the same as a vehicle used in another theft earlier in the day.

Comments: Officer observed vehicle travelling at night with a broken tail light. Officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the occupants.
Officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer deployed K-9 who alerted and indicated on the vehicle. Officer located controlled substance and arrested one occupant from the vehicle.

Comments: Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle collision. Officers advised that the driver of the vehicle was likely intoxicated per the reporting party. Officers arrived on scene and the driver was gone. Officers attempted to locate the subject but were unsuccessful. Vehicle towed.

Comments: Elderly female called her landlord to report an unidentified male had let himself into her residence in the middle of the night. The elderly female confronted the male about why he was in the house. According to the female the male appeared disoriented and left the residence on his own. The male suspect has not been located.

Comments: Bicyclist stopped for traffic violation. Bicyclist was under the influence of alcohol while on release orders.

Comments: Officers were dispatched to a subject attempting to force entry into a residence. Officers located the subject who was intoxicated and was attempting to locate his residence. Subject was arrested for public intoxication and was found to have a BrA C .256%

Comments: Packages delivered to a local residence were stolen by suspects in a pickup truck. Investigation is ongoing.

Comments: The hospital called to report an unattended death that occurred while the decedent was being transported to the emergency room. All family has been notified. Initial prognosis is the death was a result of natural causes.
