JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.

•TRAFFIC ACCIDENT – HIT/RUN, PUBLIC PROPERTY DAMG
Comments: Officers were dispatched to a road hazard involving a lamp in the roadway. Officers investigated the scene and determined it was a hit and run collision. Officers located a vehicle with fresh damage and leaking fluids in a nearby parking lot. The damage was consistent with the hit and run collision. The driver admitted hitting the lamp post and tree in an effort to avoid a collision with a deer but never reported the collision. The driver was cited for hit and run collision.

Comments: A couple goes out to dinner and skips out on the tab.

•ASSAULT – SIMPLE ASSAULT
Comments: Several occupants of a hotel contacted the front desk to report a possible domestic violence situation. The front desk then contacted law enforcement regarding the incident. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the room was no longer occupied. After investigation, Officers located the woman involved and she claimed it was an argument but nothing got physical. Officers noted several fresh injuries on the woman but the woman did not want to report any type of violence and would not cooperate with the investigation. Report is for information only.

Comments: Subject sent messages to coworkers stated he was going to hurt himself. Male subject was contacted and it was later learned he was at the hospital for treatment.

•TRAFFIC PROBLEM – TRAFFIC OFFENSE
Comments: A man was observed on his cell phone while driving. Officers conducted a traffic stop for this violation. On contacting the man, Officers smelled the odor of marijuana. The man admitted to using marijuana for recreational purposes. After searching the vehicle, Officers located items of paraphernalia and large amounts of marijuana “shake” throughout the vehicle.

Comments: Local business reported noise complaints and asked officers to respond. Officers made several contacts with involved parties and during these contacts discovered minors under the influence of alcohol. Officers investigated and issued citations for providing alcohol to minors and to the minors for being under the influence.

Comments: Officer responded to a reported Theft over $1,000. The reporting person believed that the babysitter was stealing money. The suspect was contacted and an investigation was opened.

Comments: A woman received a call saying her bank accounts had been compromised. The woman bought Google play cards with her credit card and gave the numbers to the caller over the phone because this was supposed to somehow fix it. $9,500 financial loss.

Comments: A woman reported her license plate missing from her car. She believes it was stolen while parked at Ace Hardware.

Comments: Officer was conducting traffic enforcement on E Broadway Ave. Officer noticed a vehicle make an illegal left hand turn from S Cache St. onto W. Broadway Ave. When officer made contact with the driver he noticed the smell of marijuana. While Officer was questioning the driver the passenger came up to the officer. Officers found controlled substances in the vehicle. Both occupants were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The driver was also cited for no drivers license.

Comments: Unattended death. Officers responded to a call that came out as a cardiac arrest possible death. Officers arrived and found the subject deceased. Coroner was contacted and responded.

Comments: A male fought with staff at a local bar after getting kicked out. A third party male intervened and was attacked by the other male’s girlfriend. Investigation is ongoing.

Comments: A male subject turned over items he was unable to fly with to an airport operations employee. The employee gave the items to the police for destruction. The subject was clear NC IC.
