JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.

June 9, 8:37am – Illegal Camping
An officer responded to a call of someone camping in camper on the public roadway. When the officer arrived the camper was unoccupied. A warning was left on the door and the camper has since moved.

June 9, 1:25pm – Public Injury
An officer documented an incident in which a subject fell, injuring herself on a public sidewalk.

June 9, 2:18pm – Citizen Assist
An officer took a report of an incident in which someone had emptied the septic system of a RV onto a private parking lot. There are no leads.

June 9, 5:03pm – Fraud
An officer took a report of employment fraud. At this time, there is no further information to release.

June 10, 1:59am – Commercial Burglary
At 2am officers received a report of a burglary in progress. The caller reported a male subject had attempted to kick in the glass door to a business and eventually struck it with a chair, shattering it, before entering the business. When officers arrived they found a subject inside the building and detained him. Officers contacted a manager and confirmed the subject had no association with the building. No items were found to be stolen. At the conclusion of the investigation, Benjamin John Quick, 20, of Jackson was charged with destruction of property and criminal entry.

June 10, 9:18pm – Illegal Camping
Officers responded to a report of illegal camping. The subjects were given a warning.

June 11, 10:31am – Battery
An officer took a report from an adult care facility that a patient had struck another patient. No injuries were reported but the facility is a mandatory reporter.

June 11, 11:22am – Theft
A subject reported he parked his cargo trailer in a private parking lot without permission. He returned three days later to find it was no longer in the parking lot. Follow-up showed that the property owner had the trailer removed. It was subsequently returned to the owner.

June 11, 5:17pm – Auto Burglary
A subject reported a purse stolen from her unlocked vehicle.

June 12, 8:44am – Code Enforcement
An officer took a report of a person renting a residence in violation of the short-term rental laws. Follow-up is ongoing.

June 12, 9:19am – Stalking
A subject reported that a person who she had previously had a disagreement with was stalking and harassing her in person and via social media. Attempts are being made to contact the suspect.

June 12, 9:28am – Auto Theft
A subject reported that he had left his vehicle parked and unlocked with the keys inside overnight. When he returned, the vehicle was gone. Approximately three and a half hours later an officer found the vehicle parked in front of a residence on the other side of town. The officer contacted a resident in the area who admitted to taking the vehicle and driving it home, mistakenly thinking it was his as he has a similar vehicle. Upon further investigation it was clear the subject knew prior to police arrival he had taken the wrong vehicle but he failed to report it. As a result, Matthew Gene Reed, 24, of Jackson was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.

June 12, 12:09pm – Auto Theft
A subject reported his vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of his apartment complex sometime over a two-day period. At this time there are no leads.

June 12, 12:37pm – Code Enforcement
An officer received a report that a resident was not keeping their yard in a sanitary manner. The officer found numerous bags of trash, some torn open, strewn about the property. Follow-up is continuing to contact the owner to resolve the situation.

June 12, 3:24pm – Code Enforcement
An officer took a report of a person renting a residence in violation of the short-term rental laws. Follow-up is ongoing.
