Pinedale vies for ‘RANGER Country USA’ title from Polaris 09738 Arctic Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

RANGER COUNTRY, USA – It’s down to five with the town of Pinedale, Wyoming trying to prove it is more “Ranger” than anywhere else in the country.

In commemoration of millionth Ranger rolling off the assembly line for Polaris, the manufacturer considered one of the leaders in the powersports industry is looking to name one lucky town “RANGER Country USA.” And Pinedale wants it.

Pinedale was nominated along with:

  • Spring Creek, Nevada
  • Darlington, Wisconsin
  • Stephenville, Texas
  • Corning, Arkansas

According to Polaris, each town exemplifies what RANGER is all about: tireless work, dependability, dedication to community, uncompromising love for the outdoors, and a drive to do more.

“These are rural small towns made up of farmers, ranchers, hunters and all around hard-working Americans. It’s now in America’s hands to vote on who should earn the title “RANGER Country USA,” Polaris stated.

Online voting has begun for the national event. Each entry comes with a chance to win a new RANGER XP 1000. Entrants may vote once daily from now until December 18—so get busy Pinedale!

Gary Neely

Buckrail caught a little bit of the promotional video and we have to say, of the towns nominated, Pinedale is looking like the most badass. And in virtually every shot we’ve seen, the seat of Sublette County has one thing the others do not: snow…and plenty of it. We ride our RANGERS until they bog down in the white stuff. Then we get our sleds out.

Gary Neely, a third-generation resident whose family helped settle Pinedale narrates Pinedale’s video submission. The two-minute short is chockful of Polaris vehicles navigating the rugged scenery surrounding the town. “This town has embraced the Ranger. It’s part of our livelihood,” Neely says.

Here’s what Polaris wrote about Pinedale:

Touted as “All the civilization you need,” Pinedale has a rich “mountain man” heritage, celebrated every July at the Green River Rendezvous, where the history of early American fur traders, trappers, and Native Americans is relived. A gateway town to Wyoming’s famed Jackson Hole area, residents and tourists alike enjoy the breathtaking scenery, hunting, skiing, and wildlife viewing that the three surrounding mountain ranges provide.

Highway 191 slows traffic and serves as Main Street, where a myriad of local businesses welcome you, and moose and deer freely roam about town. Pinedale proudly sports an Aquatic Center equipped with indoor water slides, two swimming pools, a lazy river, climbing wall, gym, and much more.
