JACKSON, Wyo. —Twenty-fve years ago, PAWS was created to help Jackson’s local animal shelter raise money so that all the pets could be spayed and neutered before being adopted out into the community.

Since then, PAWS has grown into a full-service animal welfare organization serving our three local communities. The PAWS difference lies in its approach. PAWS has always understood that when an animal is suffering, there’s often a person on the other end of the leash who needs help, too.

That’s why PAWS’ social services have been at the core of its mission from the beginning. For the last 25 years, PAWS has been called on to help solve every local pet-related issue, from neglect and cruelty to pet over-population, domestic violence, disaster planning and keeping local trails free of dog waste. Most recently, PAWS stepped in to acquire a local shelter on the verge of closure. PAWS has been here, helping thousands of local pets and people in need.

The next three years are critical. To keep the PAWS shelter and all of its services operational, the organization estimates its annual budget will grow to $2 million, and soon the shelter building in Driggs will need to be replaced.

There’s lots of work ahead, and that’s why PAWS is hosting this Gala – to celebrate the last 25 years and to look forward and plan for the next.

There are a few tickets left! Those who love local pets and want to support PAWS’ critical services are invited to join the fun at the home of Michael and Donna Coles on Friday, June 28 at 5:30 p.m. It will be a memorable night in pet philanthropy.
