JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Parks Division announced Tuesday that it is starting to make preparations for colder weather.
Restrooms in Town and County parks will be closed starting Monday, Oct. 2. Exceptions include Miller Park and Emily’s Pond, which are open year-round, Stilson (closing on Oct. 15 but reopening for winter) and Wilson and South Park Boat Ramp (closing Oct. 31).
The Owen Bircher riding arena will close Monday, Oct. 2.
Park staff will blow out irrigation lines to expel remaining water from pipes. They will also “apply increased agronomic practices to protect vegetation over the winter season,” according to the division’s press release.
The seasonal dog park at the Teton County Fairgrounds is expected to open the first week of November, with a firm opening day to be announced this fall.
“Teton County Parks and Recreation would like to thank the community for a great summer season,” the release said. “Staff will continue to send information and post on the Parks and Recreation website regarding other seasonal dates as staff transitions into the winter season.”
