JACKSON, Wyo. — One22 Resource Center has announced the creation of a new program to help Teton Valley commuters deal with costs resulting from the closure of the Teton Pass.

The Temporary Emergency Relief for Commuters (TERC) program includes two funding tiers:

  • A one-time “Quick Relief” stipend of a $250 gift card for gas or groceries. Applications are open now and will remain open through July 15, or until a functional road along Teton Pass opens.
  • “Emergency Relief” funds for those who need more assistance. These funds can support extended childcare, transportation, rent or other costs created by the closure.

“At One22, emergency response is part of our daily rhythm,” the nonprofit said in its announcement. “Our programs and services are designed to serve our neighbors both in times of everyday hardship and full-blown emergencies. When a crisis like this arises, that’s what we’re here for.”

Residents of Teton County, Idaho, and Alta, WY, who work at least 30 hours per week in Teton County are eligible to apply. These options are designed for people who do not have access to support through employers.

One22 noted that TERC is facilitated by “major funding” from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole’s Community Emergency Response Fund, along with other contributors. One22 also shared that it will work on this program in partnership with the Community Resource Center of Teton Valley.
