JACKSON, Wyo.— One22 Resource Center today launched 22Helps, a campaign to raise $2 million for community members economically impacted by COVID-19.
Since opening applications for COVID-19 Financial Relief Awards on March 20, One22 has received 1,177 applications and $1.84 million in financial relief requests.
22Helps will serve as the giving platform to aid community members through economic support during this time of crisis. Based on early data and forecasting, the campaign has a goal of $2 million to meet the needs of current and future applicants seeking crisis assistance.
One22 has already met the halfway mark of its goal by raising $1 million, which includes $350,000 in grants from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole’s Community Emergency Response Fund.
“As we look toward our community’s most urgent needs, those who are out of work will continue to be a priority for our Community Emergency Response Fund, and we are glad to partner with One22 to provide aid to the many people who need it, and the infrastructure to accomplish this project,” said Community Foundation of Jackson Hole President Laurie Andrews.
To date, One22 has awarded more than $547,000 to 557 applicants. Individuals who receive awards have the ability to direct their financial relief toward immediate, time-sensitive expenses including rent payment, health insurance, and up to $200 in grocery store or gas gift cards. These awards will be processed on a weekly basis.
“As we continue to receive applications daily, our unwavering attention is focused toward meeting the needs of our neighbors,” said One22 Executive Director Sharel Lund. “22Helps hopes to support those who need it most both now and in the months to come.”
One22 is grateful for the lead gift from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole and the continued support through individual contributions toward the $2 million 22Helps goal.
