JACKSON, Wyo. — In celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week, the National Elk Refuge (NER) is hosting a number of events over the weekend.

On Friday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. join refuge intern Zach for a quick introduction to nature photography. Those interested are asked to check in at the front desk at the NER, 532 N. Cache St.

At 5:30 p.m. the NER in collaboration with Grand Teton Association and Roadhouse Brewing, are hosting a Spooky Nature trivia Night at Roadhouse Pub & Eatery on the Town Square. Roadhouse has brewed a special beer to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week, a copper ale called “Herd Dynamics.” Trivia starts at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, the NER is hosting a solar eclipse viewing party from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The annular solar eclipse path is south of Jackson, but viewers in Jackson Hole might see about 70% of the eclipse, which would look like roughly two-thirds of the solar disk being covered by the moon.

The NER will have free solar eclipse viewing glasses available at the front desk.
