JACKSON, Wyo. — Who can resist a little April Fools’ Day fun?

Both Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) and Yellowstone National Park (YNP) got in on the holiday spirit with cheeky posts.

GTNP’s social media channels shared a doctored photo of the cathedral group bathed in alpenglow, joking that park rangers have to manually create the rosy lighting. The park spun the joke into a series of tips for viewing the real alpenglow in the park.

YNP also had some fun with Photoshop. Its social media post warned visitors not to get too close to the park’s animal residents, including bears, wolves and crocodiles. Along with the warning, YNP shared an image of a crocodile swimming in one of the park’s famed thermal pools.

Both posts included helpful takeaways for park visitors alongside the fibs.
