JACKSON, Wyo. — Fresh air and art will return to the National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the 15th annual Plein Air Fest, Etc.

Visitors are welcome to watch the almost 50 invited artists who will be painting along the Sculpture Trail to the museum, and then browse and bid on the art during a silent auction from 12:15 to 1 p.m. All proceeds benefit the museum and participating artists.

Artists will be on the Sculpture Trail by 10 a.m. to paint their pieces in person, and will participate in either “plein air” or “al fresco” categories. Plein air artists will paint entirely from direct observation, capturing only what they see at that moment, whereas an al fresco painting can be created from memory.

“There’s something truly special about seeing an artist respond to this landscape in real time, and then having the chance to take that work home,” says NMWA Executive Director Steve Seamons. “After 15 years, the energy and excitement around this community-favorite event have only grown!”

Attendees can also expect refreshments, live music from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and complimentary access to NMWA galleries.
