JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Board of County Commissioners Vice-Chairwoman Natalia D. Macker has announced that she will seek re-election.
Macker has served as a commissioner since 2015 and was re-elected in 2020. She served as Chairwoman from 2019 to 2022 and Vice-Chairwoman from 2017 to 2018 and again beginning in 2023.
Macker is currently the only woman on the board, and made her campaign announcement on International Women’s Day.
“I’m launching my re-election campaign on International Women’s Day because the Equality State can do better,” Macker said in a statement. “From the gender wage gap to maternity care deserts to childcare, Wyoming has ample room for improvement. I look forward to continuing my work with Teton County and across our state to improve the quality of life and economic opportunity for women, our working families and especially our most valuable resource – the next generation.”
In her announcement, Macker noted that her key issues will be the gender wage gap, pregnant workers fairness legislation, early childhood education/care and suicide/substance abuse prevention infrastructure.
“I love local government and am excited to launch my campaign on this symbolic day,” Macker’s statement said. “I remain committed to protecting the ecosystem we cherish and supporting opportunities for working families. At a time when partisanship is creating division and democracy is increasingly on the line, I see the opportunity for our community to come together. We need to remember everything that connects us and put in the hard work to find pragmatic solutions for the challenges we face.”
Outside of local government, Macker serves as the Producing Artistic Director of the Off Square Theatre Company.
