JACKSON, Wyo. — Ready for more snow?

The National Weather Service’s Riverton, WY, office (NWS) has issued another Winter Storm Warning for the Teton and Gros Ventre ranges, in effect from 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, through Tuesday evening, Dec. 17. The NWS forecast is calling for 2 feet of snow for the Tetons and up to 1 foot for the Gros Ventres.

NWS posted to Facebook on Sunday evening that this storm “will be a longer event, with several waves of snow occurring through Tuesday afternoon.”

In Jackson, that could mean 4 to 8 inches of snow on the ground by Tuesday afternoon. Road conditions might be similar to those caused by the weekend storm, with car travel expected to be “very difficult to impossible,” according to the storm warning.

“Hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes,” NWS writes. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. … If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”
