JACKSON, Wyo. — A local dog wandered off while hiking with her owner and has been missing since Sunday, Aug. 17.

Melly (or Mel) is a blue heeler with bright blue eyes and was last seen while hiking in the Teton Pass area — at the top of Phillips Pass near the turnoff for the Teton Crest Trail — around 10 a.m. on Sunday. She is wearing a black collar with tags and a red e-collar.

McKenna Legerski, a friend of the owner, emailed Buckrail details about the missing dog. “She’s one year old and a little shy but would come up to anyone with some coaxing/food.”

Contact information is on Melly’s collar, but owner Maggie Calegan can be reached at (919) 306-1538 if the dog is seen.
