JACKSON, WY — Because teamwork makes the dream work, and two is better than one. This spring, the Jackson Hole Mini-Maker Faire, previously hosted by Teton Science Schools, will join forces with Energy Conservation Work’s Jackson EcoFair to merge into one green powered community event.

The EcoFair is a long-standing community celebration, hosted the second Saturday in May each year by ECW. EcoFair 2019 will take place Saturday, May 11 from 12-5 p.m. at the Snow King Ball Field.

As part of the larger Maker Movement, Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, and projects. EcoFair celebrates environmental stewardship and features sustainability-oriented booths, live music, local food, demonstrations, kids’ activities, green power and recycling education, and more. As part of a natural evolution to celebrate innovation and sustainability in the Northern Rockies, this merger will amplify both of the event missions.

EcoFair will remain the same successful event, drawing approximately 2,500 participants and fairgoers each year. The Maker Faire component is designed to engage the creativity of innovative thinkers of all ages. Free booths will be available to those makers who are not gaining revenue from their projects and are focused on key areas of creative upcycling, alternative power, green agriculture, zero waste, and community outreach. Projects will be judged throughout the day and a Green Innovation Award will be presented at the conclusion of the event.

EcoFair booth registration is available online and applications to showcase innovation through the Jackson Hole Mini-Maker Faire can be found here.
