JACKSON, Wyo. — On Monday, Feb. 13, Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson delivered her third State of the Town address. It was the first time she’s been able to give the speech in-person at the Town Hall.

Morton Levinson was sworn in as Mayor in 2021 and previously served two terms as a town councilor.

In the roughly 16 minute speech Morton Levinson recapped the past year and shared updates on issues like childcare, water quality and housing.

In regards to goals set during the annual retreat in 2022, Morton Levinson said, “it’s exciting to see we’ve made progress on everything we’ve set out to do.”

She also highlighted the new roles added in 2022 including the Jackson Police Department social worker, the new equity task force and the ecosystem stewardship administrator.

She thanked the town staff saying, “our frontline staff works tirelessly to support our residents and visitors and I am incredibly grateful to town’s employees.”

Morton Levinson noted that in 2022 the council approved updated salary bands and pay ranges for town staff. She also shared comments submitted by visitors and locals, thanking the town staff for their work from clearing sidewalks to tackling social issues.

“It is the day-to-day interactions of each of us that make this place special,” Morton Levinson said, before concluding the speech.
