Marg Cup offers locals the chance to get outside and have fun

JACKSON, Wyo. — You don’t have to be the fastest skier or snowboarder, as long as you like to have fun!

It’s time to register for the 12th Annual Pica’s Margarita Cup, brought to you by the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club. The locals’ race league is as much (if not more) about fun as it is about speed. The scoring system gives even novice racers a chance to earn a high score and contribute to their team’s ranking.

At each event, teams of four to six people race on professional courses at Snow King Mountain, kicking off with a Giant Slalom on January 25th. Pica’s Taqueria will be there serving up their famous margaritas and tacos, although due to COVID, JHSC encourages racers to get their food-to-go.

JHSC will raffle off a ton of gear at each race plus the championship prizes from Stio and other sponsors are huge! Each race also features instant timing so racers can see their results as well as live announcing by Jeff Moran with DJ ERA mixing the hot, hot hits to keep things hype on the course.

Teams can be self-sponsored or can find a business to sponsor them. All the business-sponsored teams will compete for the series championship title and prizes as well as the business championship title. JHSC calls it the “league within the league.”

The business league is a great way for local businesses to compete against one another and promote their business while also supporting JHSC’s 500 local kids as 100% of the entry fees support the Club.

Skiers and snowboarders 18 and older are invited to race. This year’s races are designed to carry on the fun, competitive spirit the Marg Cup is known for while maintaining a COVID-safe environment.

Self-sponsored teams can register for $500 until January 22. Business-sponsored teams can register for $700 until the same day. After that, registration prices rise 10% until the first race day on January 25, at which point they’ll go up 15%. So register early to save!
