JACKSON, Wyo. — History Jackson Hole invites kids to not only learn about local history but to experience it. Hands-on activities, recreational games, and field trips combine to make History Museum Camps fun! 

The History Museum Camp registration lottery is open from February 18 to 28 at bit.ly/historymuseumcamps. Winners will be notified on March 4, with a waitlist available. 

THE LEGACY OF THE MURIES CAMP 
Entering Grades 1-2 | June 23-27 
Explore the early conservation movement and legacy of community involvement starting with local examples like Mardy and Olaus Murie at the Murie Center, the National Elk Refuge, and Grand Teton National Park. Campers will also examine current conservation needs and efforts in the valley with local experts and hands-on activities! 

JUNIOR CURATOR CAMP 
Entering Grades 3-5 | July 7-11 
Learn about the History Museum’s collection and how to select artifacts, write text labels, and creatively display the material. Campers will put together their own group exhibition, and the week will end with a mini-opening! 

HISTORICAL FICTION WRITING CAMP 
Entering Grades 3-5 | July 21-25 
Campers will explore examples of historical fiction and work with local authors, artists, and bookstores as they research, draft, edit and illustrate their own historical fiction stories. Final stories will be published in an official book to keep.

OLD SCHOOL CRAFTY CAMP SR. 
Entering Grades 3-5 | August 11-15 
Campers will explore Western crafts and heritage in connection with a new exhibition presented by the Cowboy Trade Association. After learning about traditional cowboy and cowgirl arts such as leather-making, lariat weaving and more, we’ll craft our own!

All camps run Monday to Friday with drop-off between 8:30 – 9 a.m., and pick-up from 4:30 – 5 p.m. at the new History Museum Campus at 175 East Broadway Ave. The weekly cost is $375, and scholarships may be available through One22.
