JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Library, along with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and Wyoming Stargazing is launching a whole month of space-oriented programming for all ages.

The full September space month schedule:

Launch into NASA: Aug. 29, 10-11 a.m. Ordway Auditorium.

NASA will be at the library to tell people about their scientific missions and help people build rockets of their own. Participants will also get to take home lots of fun NASA swag (puzzle, patches, stickers, and a backpack), and get entered into a drawing for a grand prize space gift basket. 

Solar Astronomy with Wyoming Stargazing, Sept. 10, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

At the Youth Wing Outdoor Area, participants will be able to use solar telescopes safely to look at sunspots and solar prominences.

Planet Walk with Wyoming Stargazing, Sept. 17, 8-9 p.m.

At the Stilson parking lot astronomy educators will use a large aperture telescope to show particpants planets, stars, planetary nebulae, galaxies, along with several iPads with the Star Walk application installed on them so people can explore the heavens while others are looking through the telescopes.
