JACKSON, Wyo. — A common mountain town expression is, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait an hour.”

The community now has the opportunity to join the National Weather Service and Teton County Emergency Management to immerse themselves in all things weather during Weather Night, a free educational event at Teton County Library on Wednesday, May 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event will share how severe mountain weather impacts Wyoming and its residents. Meteorologists from the National Weather Service, Riverton office, will give a talk focused on thunderstorm threats, how the public can relay information to the National Weather Service and helpful forecasting tools that anyone can use.

“The event might be of particular interest to anyone who works or recreates outdoors, and to those curious about severe weather that affects Wyoming,” Teton County Emergency Management Coordinator Rich Ochs said via press release.

This event is open to the public and no registration is required.
