JACKSON, Wyo. — On Thursday, May 29, the Wyoming Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is hosting the free presentation, “Early Detection and Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and Other Dementia: What You Need to Know,” to help families and loved ones who might be suffering from memory loss or brain related illnesses.

The presentation will take place at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole on 830 E Hansen Ave. from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, Dr. Martha Stearn, Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Utah and founder of St. John’s Cognitive Health, will share the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Dr. Stearn will also guide participants through the diagnostic process, including insights into new biomarker blood tests and when they can be helpful.

“This is a valuable opportunity for professionals, caregivers and community members alike to gain knowledge and resources that can make a real difference,” Alzheimer’s Association Community Engagement Manager Alizée Gervais, MNM said via press release.

The event aims to answer questions and provide guidance for the next steps in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
