Kmart closes pharmacy today, won’t say why

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Buckrail has learned the pharmacy department at Kmart has closed for good, effective today. Customers are being told their records are being transferred to Albertsons.

Kmart managers had no comment but did confirm the retirement of their head pharmacist, and the fact that the pharmacy was now closed.

The move comes on heels of the dissolution of an in-store Little Caesars Pizza operation last June. Neither local nor corporate Kmart leadership offered a reason behind that decision other than to say it came from headquarters.

Since Kmart declared bankruptcy in 2002, it has been steadily closing unprofitable outlets. The Jackson Kmart, however, has always been reportedly one of the more lucrative stores in the national chain.

Kmart announced in April it would be closing some 50 auto centers and 92 pharmacies, nationwide, in order to cut costs.
