JACKSON, Wyo. — On Sunday, Nov. 19, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS (JHF/EMS) announced the promotion of longtime career firefighter, paramedic and Fire Captain Brian Carr to Battalion Chief.
According to JHF/EMS, Battalion Chief Carr will direct and coordinate the daily operations of JHF/EMS and serve as the senior on-duty Fire Officer for Teton County. Carr will also manage emergency operations, training and emergency medical services during his shift assignment.
“Brian Carr’s advancement to the rank of Battalion Chief is a significant, well-earned personal achievement and is indicative of the highly successful Jackson Hole Fire/EMS volunteer/career combination model that has served Teton County for over 25 years,” JHF/EMS Fire Chief Stephen Jellie said in a statement. “We are very proud of Battalion Chief Carr.”
According to the announcement, Carr started his career with JHF/EMS in 2008 as a line firefighter and paramedic until he was promoted to an operational Fire Captain at Fire Station One in Jackson in 2015.
“I’d like to thank my family and colleagues for all the support and insight over the years,” Carr said in a statement. “It takes a collaborative approach to solve the challenges of emergency response and fire department administration. I look forward to continuing my work in public safety for Teton County.”
