TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), is ready to welcome guests to another winter of skiing and riding, and 2020’s Thanksgiving Day opening officially kicks off the 55th season.
As JHMR’s chairs start to spin in Teton Village this week, President Mary Kate Buckley welcomes guests noting, “we have worked hard since closing last winter to prepare for this season’s opening – not only have we invested to expand our trails, extend our snowmaking and make other improvements, we’ve also modified virtually every aspect of our mountain, food and beverage, retail and rental operations to comply with COVID health protocols. We ask our guests to observe our health and safety protocols in order to help us to achieve our goal to open safely and stay open all season long.”
On Thursday, Nov. 26 at 8:30 a.m., JHMR will open Teewinot, Sweetwater Gondola to the top, and Après Vous lifts and the Solitude covered surface lift will also open for the season at 9 a.m., with additional lifts and terrain scheduled to open throughout the weekend as snow and weather conditions allow. Guests are recommended to wear a dry face covering when possible for the best protection. The standard guidance is a non-woven fabric with two or more layers is preferred. A standard surgical mask is three layers. An N95 respirator with an exhalation valve is not an adequate face covering. Scarves or bandannas are also not considered adequate protection. These face-covering guidelines are to protect yourself and other guests while visiting JHMR this winter. JHMR will have surgical masks for guests to use, but it is encouraged for all guests to come prepared with proper face coverings, water, and a plan for the day.
