JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Last week’s Jackson Community Blood Drive was a tremendous success with 116 donors processed and 145 units collected.
The event was sponsored by Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Jackson. United Blood Services (UBS) is the sole provider of blood to every hospital in Wyoming.
According to organizers, UBS was thrilled with the turnout and appreciated the fact that they can ensure an adequate supply of blood for hospital shelves.
Summer is an especially crucial time for blood supply. Donations are typically down and, with more people on vacation, auto accidents resulting in the need for blood are up.
The next Jackson Community Blood Drive will be on August 8-9. Appointments to give blood can be made at www.bloodhero.com or by calling 1-800-365-4450.
