JACKSON, Wyo. — Rabbi Zalman Mendelsohn and The Chabad Jewish Center of Wyoming invites residents to indulge in treats, merriment and community during Chanukah (or Hanukkah) celebrations on Dec. 7 and Dec. 9.
The Latke Bash and Community Chanukah Party
This community-wide Chanukah party welcomes one and all this Thursday, Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
Residents are invited to taste a variety of Chanukah treats and latkes from A(pples) to Z(ucchinis), and everything in between. There will be delicious latkes made from potato, sweet potato, beets, herbs and more and an assortment of unique toppings. Children can create fun Chanukah projects while everyone lights Menorahs, sings songs and celebrates the holiday.
The celebration will be held at the home of Randol Curtis and Melissa Cohen and those attending can RSVP HERE. The location will sent after submitting an attendance form.
Menorah Lighting and Gelt Drop
Rabbi Mendelsohn also welcomes the entire community to a giant Menorah lighting on the Town Square this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
Everyone can catch Chanukah Gelt raining down from the top of a fire truck ladder. Adults and children alike can join in singing Chanukah songs and listening to the story of Chanukah. Delicious Chanukah treats such as hot potato latkes, doughnuts filled with jelly (Sufganiyot) and hot chocolate will be served while Chanukah Menorahs will be available for one and all. Residents are to dress warmly for the event.
